You get a better antifouling for your boat by brushing 2-4 times a season compared to painting with hazardous biocides. It takes about 30 minutes to brush thoroughly the bottom of a 6m long boat. In terms of time, this is certainly competitive both when comparing to painting and to washing your boat in a drive-in-boat wash station, when you count on the time you use to queue and to drive the boat to the station. In addition, you can do the work anywhere and whenever you want. By brushing you save money, time and the environment.
With Powerbrush, you keep the bottom clean on up to 4m wide boats without a antifouling paints containing biosides.
Seaboost invites everybody out there moving on water to find out for themselves just how effective and cost-friendly it can be to clean a boat’s bottom mechanically. Check also out Seaboost Overdrive that separately is developed for mechanical antifouling methods as Seaboost methods and drive-in-boat wash stations.
Tool for monitoring fouling condition on boat hulls. Tie the Seaboost Indicator plate at the dock next to your boat and lower the plate into the water. Regularly check how clean the plate is. When you notice that it grows on the plate or that the barnacles are being formed, it’s time to clean the bottom of your boat with the Seaboost Powerbrush-brush.
Soft brushes are softer than the Original brush. The softer brush forms better with shaped of hulls as clinker- built hulls. Soft also dissolves more quickly slime than the Original brush, making it optimal when using the brush regularly. Soft brushes are available as Orginal and Wide size. Wide (in the picture) allows you to brush bigger boats faster.
The keel shaft is used for brushing vertical surfaces like keel and rudder. You can attach all Powerbrush brushes and scrapers at Keel shaft, which you replace with the lover part of the standard shaft. For over 1.9 m wide sailboats, we recommend using Keel together with the HST Extension. With this combination, it´s possible to reach the keel on an up to 3 m wide sailboat.
Dock is designed to clean the bottom of the boats when they are up high and dry . Dock is equipped with a Orginal brush and a scraper that can be mounted at different angles, for work to be ergonomic, both when it is carried upward on larger yachts and down on smaller boats. The Scraper removes effectively barnacles and the brush algae.
All tools are compatible with other Powerbrush products. At the other end, you have a narrow scraper for barnacles when cleaning narrow surfaces as the transom and the drive.
Less paint and chemicals
With brush and scraper, you are able to target the cleaning effect better. This means you do not have to use a lot of pressure with the high pressure washer, that releases a large amounts of toxic paint and easily peels away paint layers as the beam goes into cracks causing more paintwork for you. A mechanical cleaning will also save you and the environment from unnecessary use of chemicals and detergents.
If you do not have access to a washing place that collects and filters the wash water from toxic waste, you can brush the hull with a small amount of water and wipe off the wet toxic waste. You can also place a cover under the boat to collect the spray when you are working.
